What Parents Are Saying...

...about the Kids' Curriculum at Hope Church

Stan & Sara

My third daughter, age 7, recently shared with me her observation that many of the "stars" on TV were really just "shooting stars" that eventually burned out (Britney, Lindsey, Paris, and the like).

Thinking she was very perceptive, I probed for more info. That's when I discovered that she had really been challenged by what she had been learning through the "NRG" Curriculum! On Sundays, the girls had been learning about women in the Bible and in more recent history who followed God, were brave and helped many people.

Now, Sarah goes out of her way to help others and talks about how she wants to be someone whose life makes a lasting difference. I am so grateful for what my kids are learning in the NRG Zone — that they are gaining a vision for how their lives can make a lasting impact in the world.

Darla & Calvrann

This past spring my kids and I made a quick trip to the grocery store. When we arrived I accidentally locked the keys inside the car. I thought to myself, "I'll just call my husband," but then I realized I had left my cell phone at home. As I unsuccessfully searched for quarters to make the call, my anxiety level began to rise. Under my breath I said, "This is bad...This is really bad." That is when I heard my 7-year-old son standing beside me quoting one of the verses he'd learned in the NRG Zone.

He was remembering to ask God for help in difficult times.

I looked down and smiled, and said "That's right! And you reminded me!" That day I was really thankful that my little first grader was not just learning good ideas on Sunday mornings — he was actually learning the real life application of God's word.

Lee & Luke

The "NRG" Curriculum combines physical activity with learning — and this has really been effective with our son, Luke. On Sundays he comes home excited about the games they played but also able to quote a verse he memorized that morning.

Another benefit is that he is becoming more of a leader at home and school. Specifically, at home we have seen him be quicker to obey and to share with his sister.
