The Theater Team is an auditioned group of actors who rehearse and perform scenes for Hope’s Sunday church services, and other events. Whether you’re a budding professional or an interested novice actor, the Theater Team performs quality live-action pieces that entertain, and communicates the message.
If you would like to audition, please complete the Arts Interest Form. Our Pastor of Arts and Communications, Brian Cropp, will contact you to arrange for your audition time and answer any questions that you may have. You may also email Brian or call his office at 817.535.5555 x135.
Who gets involved with the Theater Team?
The people who are involved with the Theater Team are committed to attending Hope Church on a regular basis. They feel gifted and want to use their talents to serve our church, and they want to help the team succeed in anyway possible, which means being ready and willing to serve wherever needed. Theater Team members act primarily at the weekend church services, and also may perform at other special events.
Do I have to be a member of Hope Church to join?
You do not have to be a member in order to join. However, by joining the Arts Ministry, it is our hope that you will decide to make the commitment to go through our membership classes this season and officially join the membership of Hope Church.
Will I be asked to perform every week?
No. We try to be very conscious of your schedule. For a live performance, it depends on when we have a scheduled scene, and if you’re involved. For video projects, the amount of time you spend on the shoot is dependent on the project itself, and is explained before you commit to a project.
When are rehearsals?
Rehearsals are scheduled according to need and availability of those involved.
How long do rehearsals usually last?
Rehearsals last approximately 1-2 hours depending on what needs to be accomplished. The Theater Team usually puts in one hour of rehearsal for every minute of the scene. You will need to be off book for the first rehearsal.
